Epson Launches Cutting-Edge Laser Projector

HOSS Magazine’s home lifestyle tech expert Clinton Howell reports on how Epson continues to lead the pack with their innovative and high performance LS10500 laser projector. With 4K enhancement technology and HDR combined, this new projector provides out-of-this-world images.

Epson has done it again with the LS10500 laser projector. This technology continues to amaze because it is truly innovative and incredibly effective.

It is a bulb-less technology with a 30,000 hour lifespan. It is capable of producing true black, literally 0lm with a full black image. The machine has no warm up time, so essentially instant on/off and it is plenty bright at 1500 lumens.

The picture quality is impeccable: colours are rich, details are precise and the contrast and realism of the pictures are second to none. Epson’s 4K enhancement technology is similar to JVC's e-shift technology where two separate 2K chips are being used and are slightly offset from one another to create a virtual 4K experience. Epson has gone one step further though with compatibility with 4K native sources.

I am a big fan of the Epson LS10000 and now the LS10500.

Pricing has gone up slightly from its predecessor, but still offering a tremendous value for the investment. I saw this projector in action at CEDIA 2016 and it is now just starting to ship.

To top it all off the Epson offers a professional grade lens with motorized lens that include focus and zoom presets if you are wanting to use a 2.35:1 screen or have multiple physical screen aspect ratios (motorized masking and such) available on your remote.

If you are on the market for a new projector, be sure to check out Epson. Simply put, this technology is “picture perfect.”
