5 Canadian Travel Destinations for Valentine’s

Valentine’s Day is one of the most romantic days of the year and many couples love to celebrate this holiday with an amazing day trip or mini vacations. In order to help everyone make plans for this fantastic day, we have found the cities that are the best for couples looking for romance, fun, adventure and more.

Here are the top 5 romantic places to travel to on Valentine’s Day:

Whistler, British Columbia

Romance is in the air in Whistler and so is adventure. There are many resorts and hotels in Whistler and couples can choose to ski the slopes during the day and relax in a cozy restaurant with a delicious dinner at night. Another option for couples is to stay inside all day, snuggled up in front of the fire with a glass of wine. Don’t forget to take advantage of the glorious spas or outdoor pools and hot tubs that you’ll find in most resorts!

Food is important any day of the year, but on Valentine’s Day couples want to eat a meal that is extra special. In Toronto, couples can take a food tour and explore delicious foods from different neighborhoods. While these tours are offered throughout the year, the Valentine’s Day one is usually a little different because the foods are often the ones that are considered aphrodisiacs. Most of the hotels in the city offer special packages for this holiday as well plus unique entertainment.

The best part of choosing this city to explore is that there are so many things to do in Toronto. The attractions vary from seeing the city atop the CN Tower to watching animals at the Toronto Zoo or Ripley’s Aquarium. You can explore the Royal Ontario Museum, the Hockey Hall of Fame or set foot into Casa Loma, a castle in the heart of the city.

Niagara on the Lake

This quaint town is famous for the wineries, gardens, and architecturally interesting buildings. Couples can walk through the town while visiting boutiques and experiencing the beauty of the area. After a wonderful dinner, couples might want to consider a horse drawn carriage ride to see the town under the sparkling stars of the night sky.

Time may actually stop on occasion in Newfoundland, because everyone in the area is relaxed and moves at a slower pace. Valentine’s Day may only happen once a year, but the towns of Heart’s Desire, Heart’s Content and Cupids treat every day as Valentine’s Day. Any one of these towns would be the perfect place for couples to visit and eat local foods while getting some much needed down time.

Quebec City

Couples who want to experience the ultimate in romance will want to visit Quebec City and walk along the cobblestone streets while looking at 18th century walls and finding hidden passageways. After a day of exploring, couples will want to take time to eat a fabulous meal by candlelight at one of the nice restaurants.

Romance can be found almost everywhere in the world but, there are certain cities that take that romance to the next level. After all, adventure, good food and R&R definitely helps keep the spark alive. Any couple that visits any one of these cities will find that they will celebrate their best Valentine’s Day yet.
