Sleep in Vincent van Gogh’s Bedroom
The Art Institute of Chicago (AIC) has brilliantly recreated Vincent van Gogh’s “Bedroom in Arles” – one of the most famous bedrooms ever in art history.
The AIC is now hosting an exhibition of van Gogh’s work, and to make the event extra special, it has actually made a modern apartment from his iconic work which van Gogh fans can rent out, courtesy of Airbnb.
That’s right, now you will have the chance to step right inside the painting and experience the room for real, and sleep in it too.
Airbnb’s listing reads: “This room will make you feel like you’re living in a painting. It’s decorated in post-impressionist style, reminiscent of southern France and times gone by… Its furniture, bright colours and artwork will give you the experience of a lifetime.”
This is certainly an innovative way to bring a classic painting to life.
And don’t worry, renting the room doesn’t come even close to breaking the bank. Airbnb is advertising the rental for $US10 per night.
The exhibition was launched this past weekend and runs until May 10.
This is also the first time in North America where all three versions of van Gogh’s “Bedroom in Arles” will also be on display at the Chicago museum.
