Gifts They’ll Love

The Christmas holiday is one of our favourite times of the year. We make a point to ensure the whole Scott family gets together no matter where we are or what we're up to. And if you're anything like us, the holiday is all about giving, not receiving. So if you need a little inspiration for what to give this year, here is a wish list of gifts and suggestions to help warm up any home. There’s something for your favourite homeowner here, and maybe something for yourself, too!

Deck the designer hall

If you know someone who fears the thought of renovating and designing their home, consider giving them a gift certificate for a designer home consultation. This could be that little bit of inspiration they need.

Holiday spirit

Nothing puts you in the holiday spirit like a little colour! And a few cans of paint won’t cost much. Many paint retailers have soft ware that can show your room with several different colour palettes. It’s an easy and inexpensive way to dramatically improve the look of your home and brighten up your space in the dark, indoor months.

Hang the stocking with care

A fireplace can give your home a more comfortable feel . To save time and a lot of money, consider an electric insert. If built-in correctly, an electric insert can look identical to a gas fireplace, and can be placed on any wall.

Trim the tree

A growing trend is using distressed or upcycled wood for features in your home. Whether it’s a beach wood picture frame or a repurposed barn door, there are great rustic wood features you can incorporate into your design to give it a comfy, contemporary look.

Sounds of the holiday

These days there is no need to hardwire your sound system. Wireless Bluetooth technology means you can place your speakers anywhere you like and you can find quality systems for as little as $299. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas Most people want their outdoor space to be as comfortable as their indoor living area. Using furniture and decor to define an outdoor entertainment area is a very cost-effective way to improve the look of your home. We designed our Scott Living outdoor furniture and decor collections to give people that high-end feel without the high-end price.
